Since 1912

A Proud Scottish Heritage

The Canadian Scottish Regiment (Princess Mary's) traces its roots to 1912 with the 88th Regiment, Victoria Fusiliers. In 1920, it amalgamated with the 50th Regiment (Gordon Highlanders) to form the regiment we know today.

Named in honor of Princess Mary, daughter of King George V, in 1948, the regiment carries the proud motto "Deas gu cath" — Ready for the fray.

From the trenches of Vimy Ridge to the beaches of Normandy on D-Day, our regiment has served with distinction. Today, members continue to serve with UN and NATO missions around the world.
