How we preserve heritage and support The Canadian Scottish Regiment
Supporting Our Regiment's Heritage
The Canadian Scottish Regimental Heritage Foundation operates several key programs designed to preserve and promote the proud heritage of The Canadian Scottish Regiment (Princess Mary's). Through these initiatives, we maintain traditions, support active members, and honor those who served.
Ceilidh Fundraising Events
Each year, we organize a traditional Scottish Ceilidh at the historic Bay Street Armoury in Victoria. This beloved event brings together the regimental family, veterans, and the community for an evening of Scottish celebration.
The Ceilidh features:
- Live performances by the Pipes and Drums
- Traditional Scottish dancing
- Community gathering and fellowship
- Silent auctions and fundraising activities
- Recognition of regimental achievements
All proceeds support the foundation's mission to maintain regimental traditions and heritage programs.

Book of Memory Project
Honoring those who made the ultimate sacrifice
The Book of Memory project is one of our most sacred undertakings. This ongoing initiative documents and honors all members of The Canadian Scottish Regiment who gave their lives in service to Canada.
The project includes:
- Comprehensive documentation of war dead
- Research into individual service histories
- Preservation of personal stories and photographs
- Connection with surviving family members
- Memorial ceremonies and commemorations
From the 5,491 casualties suffered by the 16th Battalion in WWI to the 402 killed in WWII, we are committed to ensuring that no sacrifice is forgotten. Their names are remembered, their service honored, and their stories preserved for future generations.
